Don't be Frightened... It's Just Me With Frizzy Hair

One Surprising Reason You Might Have Frizzy Hair

We're building up to Halloween, so I thought I'd share one of my most popular videos from the archives with you.

It has always generated a lot of emails and comments, and if you have alway wondered why your hair  might go frizzy, like, all the time, this might be a clue.

Warning: you may need a cushion handy for hiding your eyes during the scary bits!

* ~ * ~ *

I had a leeetle bit of time this weekend before meeting my friends for lunch, so I thought I'd experiment with my hair.

My children were frightened.

The youngest was quiet for a minute and said, "Are you able to put it back the way it was?"

Bless her.

So don't watch this video if you are of a delicate nature.

Enjoy ... so to speak, *ahum*.

    Thankyou for this Melissa. Yes this is very helpful and affirming for us curlies!! Have you got any tips for how to change from dyed caramel-brown hair to embrace the grey as you have done? I'm wondering where to go with my time-consuming dying habit...

      Hi Have lighter highlights woven into your hair. Don't know what shades would flatter you best but seek out a good colourist. My hair colour is like Melissa's and I am now an ash blonde. My hair grows quickly and having highlights lasts about three months longer if I wear my hair down more. It is much better than constant dying.

    2. Hi Lyndsey - Lovely to hear from you! I totally know that feeling. Changing colours is really hard, I'm not gunna lie. Here's a post I wrote about my own experience. Enjoy!

    3. Thank you for that comment about highlighting and ESPECIALLY about finding a good colourist. This is the truth. Find someone whose hair you think looks good (with hair similar to yours) - even if it's a total stranger on the street - and ask who does their hair. Then go give that recommendation a trial. Thanks for the comment!
