Stone Bridge Hair Accessories - Censored!

Mumsnet blocking our customers!

How terribly exciting!

Stone Bridge has been censored. You wouldn't think hair clips would be a topic of concern, but how wrong you are.

On Tuesday, a Mumsnet member posted the following reasonable question:

"I've had a side fringe (a longish one) cut into my hair (just under chin length). Are hairslides to hold it back on occasion quite cool, or just not? if yes, where would I find some cool ones?"

After a perfectly sensible discussion about grips, bendy clips, Boots, Accessorise (but "not Claire's"), a lovely customer of ours - and we honestly don't know who she is - posted an apparently outrageous answer.

It was deleted.

Because I'm a little bit nifty on the interweb (and thanks to the mighty power of Google), I retrieved it.

Here is the offending post:

"Try these guys. Pricey but absolutely fantastic and really good on your hair. Sign up for their blog/newsletter and you get lloads of really handy tutorials. For the first time in my life I have managed to get beyond a ponytail

(If you aren't already signed up to our email list which she's talking about, you can get yourself subscribed here ...

Don't worry, you can always unsubscribe if you change your mind, no problem.)

Let me be clear with you on this

  • No one from Stone Bridge posted this. Not one of our PR people, no one who has ever done any work for us and definitely not me.
To prove it, we'd even be willing to open our systems history (company and personal) for Mumsnet to inspect.
  • Our company policy is if someone from Stone Bridge feels moved to participate in a forum they must always declare their relationship. This way people can judge the value of the post for themselves.

  • We work hard to preserve our reputation as honest, straight-shooting people here at Stone Bridge.
    • All of the quotes on our website, on any review site or in any publication are genuine.

Stone Bridge Hair Accessories Has Never And Does Not Need To Fabricate Testimonials

Our customer feedback has all been published with clear, written permission from the person quoted.

The original comments and the permissions are all kept on file, so if there is any question about the veracity of any testimonial you read anywhere about Stone Bridge, it has come from either a real customer or from someone who just likes what we're doing.

We also actively encourage our customers to review us - openly and honestly - on the independent consumer site ReviewCentre.com. We have no editorial input into any of these reviews.

But no comments - online or in print - have ever been planted by us. Ever.

This isn't true of all online companies, but it is true of Stone Bridge.

We actually have a funny problem with the quotes in that if you did a search online, there are no unhappy reviewers. I guess the reason for this is we pretty much move heaven and earth to try and solve your problem for you - as long as we know there is a problem!

We in fact have been known to refuse sales that we think will leave the customer disappointed. I've got written testimonials to this fact as well. Several of them. Fact.

The reason for this is because we have a No Quibbles Satisfaction Guarantee. You can send that sucker back for a full refund if you don't like it.

    For. Any. Reason.

And we would rather you get a hair clip you love so much that you want to adore it and wear it every day forever.

The Bad Girl Of Hair Accessories

I feel quite proud of being censored.

I love the concept that if you do something SO consistently well, that you generate such strong positive feedback from your customers, you must be a liar.

If you feel you'd like to add to the discussion at Mumsnet, the thread can be found here.

Because of our strict policies, we can't speak up for ourselves over there on Mumsnet territory. But you can if you want to.

Who knows? You too might get censored.

    Wouldn't that be a kick?

    Mumsnet People Are Good People

Don't get me wrong. I've not got the ump against Mumsnet at all.

Just like we look after you and take that job quite seriously, Mumsnet looks after their members and wants to protect them.

    From hair clips, obviously.

I have actually met one of the founders of Mumsnet, Justine Roberts, way way back in the day when they were just getting going. We were at a book launch together in London. As I recall, they wanted me to do something with them at the time.

    They're good people. Total respect.
